1st Jenney Grist Mill 5K race and walk
Run or walk for history. Sponsored by Bayside Runner and Brooks Running this 5K race will benefit our "History for Kids" program which offers free admission to children 17 years and under when accompanied by a parent or grandparent encouraging families to experience the history of our country together. Opening Day
As we begin our 9th season at the Grist Mill we will again be offering our "History for Kids" program. Thanks to our sponsors Rockland Federal Credit Union and BankOne, children 17 years of age and younger will be admitted free to the "History of Plymouth's Jenney Grist Mill" tour when accompanied by a parent or grandparent. This program is for families only and does not apply to groups. Tours are on the hour and half hour beginning at 9:30 am. (Sunday at 12:00 noon) The last tour is at 4:30. Reservations are not necessary, but are suggested. "Discover Plymouth's History - a Walking Tour" is a one hour tour of the historic district. Given by our guide dressed in period clothing, this tour begins and ends at the Jenney Grist Mill. Reservations are required for this tour. Free parking is available. Visit our ice cream shop before or after your tour.
Mid April to mid May
Annual Herring Run
The river herring will begin migrating up from the ocean, along Town Brook to the Mill on the way to Billington Sea. Last year over 144,000 fish came by the Mill. This amazing event can be wittnessed from mid April to mid May every spring. Come bring the family, sit by the brook and watch them work as they wait to climb the fish ladder located along side the Mill. Take a tour of the Mill, see them swimming in an underwater video and talk to the miller about the importance of the herring and the Mill to the survival of the Pilgrims.

Brownie Badge Program
Leaders..bring your Brownies to the Grist Mill and earn the "Listening to the Past" badge. Programs available year round. Contact Nancy Martin at 508-747-4544.

Junior Level Girl Scout Programs
"Local Lore" badge program. Each scout will fulfill the requirements upon completion of the program and receive a certificate for their badge. "Science Sleuth" badge program. Bring your troop for a visit to the Grist Mill and they can complete one requirement for the - "What is a Simple Machine?"
Christian Tours
God and the Pilgrims
Learn how their covenant relationship with God influenced the everyday life of the Pilgrims and how they used their gifts for the benefit of the community. This tour is great for youth groups, homeschoolers, church groups and any Christian schools or organizations. These tours are offered at the Grist Mill or at your church. Tours of the Forefather's Monument are offered daily also. Call for information.
